About Me

Hi, my name is Adri Leijendekkers and I started diving in the year of 2006.As soon as I started to feel comfortable while being underwater, I really wanted to capture those beautiful moments. After a long time of comparing different cameras I bought my first digital compact, weeks before my first trip to Sharm-El-Sheik in Egypt. Although I shot some great pictures, there was something missing. Even after adding an external strobe I realised that I had reached the limits and boundaries of a compact camera. I had no other choice than to drain some savings and get myself equipped with a DSLR and housing.Oh my…, why do there have to be so many possibilities. I made my choice after another journey of comparing products.

I’ve been warned by other photographers not to expect too much after being down under for the first time with a DSLR.
Well, they weren’t lying at all. The results were really bad and I needed some guidance.

Nearby I found myself a great teacher in Kees Opstal, two times champion of the Dutch Underwater Championship in 2006 and 2007. We are both members of one of the oldest scuba-diving clubs in the Netherlands. During a 16 day trip in Malaysia Kees gave me a workshop and shared everything I asked for. I was even lucky enough to meet Aaron Wong from Singapore, another great and price winning underwater photographer.

Thanks guys, for all the tips and tricks, I’m really getting there………..
